General Dentistry

Preventive care, routine cleanings, and comprehensive exams to keep your smile healthy for life.
The foundation of good oral health is simple: regular cleanings, thorough exams, and catching small problems before they become big ones.

General dentistry is what we do most—and what we believe matters most. It’s not flashy, but it’s how we help you avoid pain, save money, and keep your natural teeth for as long as possible.

Whether it’s your first visit in years or you’ve been coming here since childhood, we’ll listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and create a plan that makes sense for you.

Prevention Over Intervention

The best dental treatment is the one you never need. That’s why we emphasize prevention: cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and patient education.

When we do find a problem—a small cavity, early gum disease, a worn filling—we address it conservatively and clearly explain your options.

Our goal isn’t to sell you treatment. It’s to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums with the least intervention possible.

Common Questions

For most people, every six months works well — two cleanings and exams a year keep small problems from turning into big ones. If you’ve had gum disease, frequent cavities, or other concerns, we may recommend coming in every three or four months. We’ll let you know what makes sense for you and won’t push extra visits you don’t need.

Yes. We see kids of all ages and most of the families we care for have been with us for generations. We keep first visits short and friendly, explain everything in age-appropriate language, and focus on building good habits early so dental visits feel routine, not scary.

Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar above and below the gumline, polishes your teeth, checks your gums for early signs of disease, and updates X-rays when needed. Then Dr. Vogler does a thorough exam. The whole appointment usually takes about an hour, and you’ll leave knowing exactly where things stand.

X-rays let us see decay between teeth, infection at the roots, bone loss, and other issues we can’t catch with the naked eye. We follow current guidelines and only take them when they’ll actually inform your care — typically once a year for bitewings and every few years for a full series. We use modern digital X-rays, which use a fraction of the radiation of older film X-rays.

You’re not alone, and we won’t make you feel bad about it. Plenty of our long-time patients started exactly where you are. Your first visit will be a comprehensive exam with X-rays so we can see the whole picture, then we’ll lay out a clear, no-pressure plan to get you back on track at a pace that works for you.
